About Winslow Township, NJ
Winslow Township is a township located in Camden County, New Jersey. Part of the Philadelphia-Camden metro area, Winslow Township was incorporated in 1845, formed from portions of Gloucester Township. The township is Camden County’s largest municipality by total area. Winslow Township was named for the Winslow Glass Words factory that was built in the area. The township became known for its glass industry, although the community remained largely agricultural until the 1960s when the township received an interchange with the Atlantic City Expressway, which motivated homebuilder Levitt & Sons to construct planned communities in the Sicklerville neighborhood. However, further development was restricted in the 1980s with the establishment of the Pinelands National Reserve, of which around 80 percent of the township’s land currently sits.
